Historic Finds (It's what happens when you Crane your Neck and Look Around)...

Two great Historic finds this week. One the "Secret" Giotto uncovered in Florence chapel, and the second, Gas pipeline probe uncovers shipwrecks in Baltic Sea...

Giotto's hidden paintings were found by Restorers using ultra-violet rays. (Sounds exciting, where can I buy my Ray-Gun-Thingy?)Their search began over a year ago an ambitious project of "non-invasive diagnostics" (Sounds like something Doctors should say to their patients more often!) to ascertain the condition of the 12-meter-high chapel, which Giotto painted in about 1320. The goal of the study,is to gather information on the chapel to use as a sort of map for future restorations.

Giotto's paintings are believed to have had a influence on Michelangelo. Michelangelo was born almost 140 years after Giotto death. The restorers are now seeing the details Michelangelo did way back then when he studied paintings by Giotto...

A dozen (A Dozen? What was this synchronized ship wrecks?)previously unknown shipwrecks, some might even be up to 1,000 years old. They were discovered in the Baltic Sea. They were seen during a probe of the sea bed while preparing for the installation of a gas pipeline. Many of the ships might be from the 17th and 18th century and they think some could even be from the Middle Ages!!! (Wow... Back up King Author, you and your round table are off the news and back onto the shelves)...
